Oliver Stone's 1989 war drama will ignite Blu-ray's fireworks just in time for Independence Day.
In an early announcement to retailers, Universal Studios says 'Born on the Fourth of July' will have a Blu-ray release on July 3.
The film starring Tom Cruise is adapted from Ron Kovic's memoir and was nominated for eight Oscars including Best Actor (Tom Cruise) and Best Picture and won for Best Film Editing and Best Director (Oliver Stone).
The release will be a Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack and will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements will include: Commentary with Oliver Stone, Backstory: Born on the Fourth of July, The '80s, and Academy Award Winners.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $19.98.
