The final season of the blood-drenched series will enter the Blu-ray arena this September.
In an early announcement to retailers, Starz/Anchor Bay Entertainment will unleash 'Spartacus: War of the Damned' on Blu-ray on September 3.
'Spartacus: War of the Damned' takes place following the defeat of Roman commander Gaius Claudius Glaber, with Spartacus (Liam McIntyre) and his men having amassed major victories against the Romans after the Battle of Vesuvius. These victories have not only forged the legend of Spartacus, but have greatly increased the ranks of the rebellion slaves to more than 30,000. Rome is indeed beginning to tremble at the threat Spartacus now represents. The series also stars Manu Bennett as Crixus, Dustin Clare as Gannicus, Dan Feuerriegel as Agron, Simon Merrells as Crassus, Todd Lasance as Caesar and Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Naevia.
"The final season of Spartacus was an emotional journey for all involved and hopefully a satisfying conclusion for the fans," said creator and executive producer Steven S. DeKnight. "We wanted to make the Blu-ray release reflect our gratitude for their enthusiastic support. It's packed with bonus features, extended episodes and commentary tracks that add an extra, exciting dimension to the world of Spartacus."
The 3-disc set will feature 1080p video, a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements include: Spartacus: The Legend Retold, The Price Of Being A Gladiator, A Bloody Farewell, The Spoils Of War Revealed: Visual Effects, Adorning The Damned, and The Mind Behind Spartacus.
Blu-ray exclusives include: Extended Episodes and Audio Commentaries.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $59.99.
