The zombie disaster movie based on the book by Max Brooks is coming to Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D in mid-September!
As previously reported, Paramount is preparing 'World War Z' Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack and 'World War Z - 3D' Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack for a release later this year, and now the official date has been set for September 17.
In 'World War Z,' a U.N. employee (Brad Pitt) is racing against time and fate, as he travels the world trying to stop the outbreak of a deadly Zombie pandemic. "I'm really excited for fans to see the new unrated version of 'World War Z' on Blu-ray," said producer and star Brad Pitt. "We were thrilled with the audience response to the film in theaters and wanted to give viewers even more of the action and intensity that they loved when they watch the film at home."
Note that the 3D discs will only include the Theatrical Cut of the film.
Each combo pack will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 soundtrack, and supplements include: Origins: The filmmakers discuss collaborating with renowned actor/producer Brad Pitt to create a Zombie film the likes of which have never been seen; Looking to Science: Explore the scientific realities of Zombie behavior in nature and learn more about Zombies in literature and film; and WWZ Production: Outbreak, The Journey Begins, Behind the Wall, and Camouflage.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is set at $39.99 and the Blu-ray 3D is $54.99.
