The highest grossing romantic comedy of all-time will walk Blu-ray down the aisle this November!
In an early announcement to retailers, HBO says 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding: 10th Anniversary Special Edition' will arrive on Blu-ray on November 13.
Hailed by critics as "heartfelt and hilarious" (Rolling Stone) and fueled by unprecedented word-of-mouth buzz, this delightful story about a woman's comic struggle to find her identity and one true love while dealing with her crazy Greek family became "a phenomenon" (The New York Times).
Based on the autobiographical one-woman show written by Nia Vardalos, 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' features an outstanding ensemble cast that includes Vardalos, John Corbett ('Sex and the City'), Michael Constantine ('The Juror'), Lainie Kazan ('Beaches'), Andrea Martin ('Wag the Dog') and Joey Fatone (Broadway's 'Rent'). Filmed in 27 days on a budget of $5 million, 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' charmed its way into the hearts of audience members young and old and has become the second highest grossing Independent film of all time. The film is also the third best-selling comedy on video (VHS and DVD combined) and the 5th best-selling comedy on DVD.The film received an Academy Award® nomination for Best Original Screenplay as well as two Golden Globe® nominations for Best Comedy or Musical and Best Actress in a Comedy (Vardalos).
Specs have yet to be revealed for the Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack, but supplements will include: Audio commentary with Vardalos, Corbett and director Joel Zwick (from the original DVD release); "A Look Back at My Big Fat Greek Wedding" - A brand new 30-minute retrospective, re-uniting Vardalos and Corbett to reminisce about the making of the film; and never-before-seen deleted scenes.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray set is $19.98.
