Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced a mid-June Blu-ray release for the golfing drama 'The Greatest Game Every Played.'
Starring Shia LaBeouf and directed by Bill Paxton, 'The Greatest Game Ever Played' chronicles the triumph of 20-year-old Francis Ouimet, who defeated his idol, Englishman Harry Vardon at the 1913 US Open.
Disney will debut the critically acclaimed (if commercially ignored) drama on Blu-ray on June 16, where it will join another just-announced sports-themed drama, 'Miracle.'
Tech specs will see a BD-50 dual-layer presentation with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video (2.35:1) and an English DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround track.
Bonus features include audio commentary with Paxton and producer Mark Frost, and a trio of featurettes: "A View from the Gallery: On the Set of The Greatest Game Ever Played," "Two Legends and the Greatest Game" and "From Caddy to Champion: Francis Ouimet."
Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $34.99.
