The black comedy from writer/director Boris Rodriguez will chow down on Blu-ray this summer.
In an early announcement to retailers, Doppelganger Releasing is bringing 'Eddie: The Sleepwalking Cannibal' to Blu-ray on August 6.
Frustrated, former art-scene darling Lars (Lindhardt) takes a teaching job in a small town as a "therapeutic measure" to stir up his creative juices. Life in the peaceful hamlet first appears to be rosy, as Lars settles in and impresses his beautiful colleague Lesley (Georgina Reilly) by taking in the brawny, mute Eddie (Dylan Smith) after his caregiver passes away. But Lars soon discovers that Eddie suffers from a rare form of somnambulism that transforms him from a docile, cereal-obsessed art student into a ravenous sleepwalking cannibal. Initially horrified by Eddie's dark secret, Lars soon becomes enthralled by the not-so-gentle giant, who truly becomes the muse that Lars has been searching for. But as Lars' artistic endeavors grow in scope and acclaim, so does the body count created by Eddie's gruesome nocturnal activities.
Specs have yet to be revealed, but supplements will include: Behind-The-Scenes Featurettes; Interview with Director Boris Rodriguez; and Theatrical Trailer.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $24.95.
