First in-game trailer heralds hope for improved PC support.
'Dark Souls II' promises to be a challenging game, but fans have expressed concerns that with new direction the project may fail to live up to the first game's standard. At the same time, the unfortunate nature of the 'Dark Souls' PC port has brought up the question of whether or not community mods will be required in order to bring 'Dark Souls II' in line with fans' PC game expectations.
'Dark Souls II' director, Yui Tanimura, has admitted that the PC version of 'Dark Souls,' which was produced and delivered only after Namco Bandai took notice of fan petitions, was not carefully made. "A lot of it was not very well done, sort of half-assed."
Fortunately, this admission about the PC version, which requires users mods to run at typical PC game resolutions and framerates, comes with a promise for 'Dark Souls II.' "Yes, we will definitely put more priority on the PC. Last time, we started working on PC after the console version was complete. This time, because we are considering the PC from the beginning, you can be sure there will be more care put into PC development."
NamcoBandai and From Software have not yet indicated a release date for 'Dark Souls II,' but the game is available for pre-order.
