UK Chancellor George Osbourne says the move will keep highly skilled people in the UK and help shift the economy.
Game companies in the UK have reason to celebrate today as Chancellor George Osbourne confirmed that a tax relief will be instated for game and animation companies. He said that the UK needs to "support our brilliant video games and animations industries."
Among the developers based in the UK is Crytek, the folks behind Crysis, Far Cry, and the CryENGINE – apparently they're the experts anything having to do with crying. "This is the right decision for the future of the UK games industry and consumers across the world who enjoy playing British made games," says Crytek managing director Karl Hiltond. "It will also promote the creation of high skilled jobs, enhance investment and stimulate an export focused industry."
