Three million New York households are now without Fox.
This storm's been a-brewin' for some time now and it's finally hitting. The issue is simple - Fox wants money, Cablevision doesn't want to give it to them. Each side has legitimate arguments and concerns, but what's important is how the customers are being affected.
This weekend, Fox pulled stations Fox 5 and My9 from Cablevision. That means that right now there are three million cable customers out there who can't get one of the channels they've been paying for and are missing the shows they want to watch.
According to the scathing press release form Cablevision – definitely worth a read – Fox is also threatening DISH Network with the same tactic. It's difficult to say who's right and who's wrong in the situation since it's a fairly complex issue, but one thing is certain – Fox has created a huge number of angry cable subscribers.
