Two cast additions for the streaming series have been announced.
CBS All Access has announced two new cast members for its upcoming spinoff of 'The Good Wife.' Rose Leslie is set to join the cast as Maia, Diane Lockhart's goddaughter. Meanwhile, Delroy Lindo will play Robert Boseman, an attorney who starts poaching Lockhart's associates and clients when she gets into financial trouble, and threatens her ability to stay in business.
"We're thrilled to have Rose on board," said executive producers Robert and Michelle King. "We needed a young actress who could hold her own with Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo, and Rose is perfect. She's real, she’s strong and she can play comedy. If we designed an actress from the ground up, we couldn't have done better."
As previously reported, the spinoff will pick up one year after the events of the final episode of 'The Good Wife.' In the series, an enormous financial scam has destroyed the reputation of a young lawyer, Maia (Rose Leslie), while simultaneously wiping out her mentor Diane Lockhart's savings. Forced out of Lockhart & Lee, they join Lucca Quinn at one of Chicago's pre-eminent law firms. Leslie and Lindo join Emmy Award winner Christine Baranski, who will reprise her role as Diane Lockhart, and fan favorites Cush Jumbo as Lucca Quinn and Sarah Steele as Marissa Gold.
'The Good Wife' spinoff will premiere in February 2017 with a special broadcast on CBS. Following the premiere, the series will then move exclusively to CBS All Access.
CBS All Access offers next-day streaming for new episodes of many popular shows and a library of over 8,500 on-demand episodes, including content from current programs like 'Limitless' and 'Elementary,' and classic series like 'Star Trek' and 'Cheers.' Likewise, select customers can watch live local CBS broadcasts. The service currently costs $6 per month with commercials and $10 per month without commercials. Supported devices include the PS4, Xbox One, Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Fire TV Stick with Voice Remote, Roku players, Roku TVs, Apple TV, Chromecast, Xbox 360, and Windows 10, iOS and Android products.
