Sure to spawn a whole new generation of "I wish I could quit you" jokes, 'Brokeback Mountain' will hit HD DVD this January from Universal Studios Home Entertainment.
Ang Lee's drama about love between two ranch hands courted controversy from the word go, from early tear-soaked festival screenings to becoming a pop culture catchphrase to charges of Hollywood homophobia when the film was surprisingly snubbed for Oscar's Best Picture honor last year.
In any case, all the fuss is sure to figure prominently in the supplements for the HD DVD, which will hit stores simultaneously with a new Collector's Edition DVD on January 23, 2007.
No specs have been announced yet, only a $34.95 list price.
We'll keep you posted as more news comes in, and in the meantime we've added a new listing for 'Brokeback Mountain' to our HD DVD Release Schedule.
