Developer capitalizing on 'The Walking Dead' success.
Telltale Games is busier than ever, with both 'The Walking Dead' Season 2 and 'The Wolf Among Us' in full swing. Recently though, the company shared not one but two exciting projects currently underway.
First there is the 'Tales from the Borderlands,' which as with their other projects is an episodic story-driven game and modern flavor of the adventure games of old. Unlike their other games, 'Tales from the Borderlands' is being produced with the collaboration of 'Borderlands' developer Gearbox Software.
Aside from the interesting possibilities of crossing over a world of multiplayer shooting and looting into Telltale's choice-filled story genre, the transition from the normal 'Borderlands' art style into Telltale's growing cell-shaded version is as smooth as anyone can ask for. Happy vault hunting will begin with the first episode, which may be in 2014.
Then there is the potential gold-mine of 'Game of Thrones: A Telltale Series.' Other 'Game of Thrones' games exist but none that was produced to meet the furor present sense the HBO series catapulted into a staggering force of fame. That captured essence makes for a titillating promise for the new game series, which is set to premiere in 2014. The game is produced full partnership of HBO, which should mean a production carryover strong enough to please most fans of the show.
Both games look to follow Telltale's recent model of five episode seasons debuting on the PC, Xbox 360, PS3, and Mac platforms before going to other platforms such as iOS and the PS Vita. Both new series will also likely be featured on the Xbox One and PS4.
