The game is only a month away from release and it's time to really ramp up the tests and hammer everything out.
'Diablo III' is one of the most hotly anticipated games of the year, and a title that folks have been looking forward to for years. It's finally going to release next month – May 15th – but over a quarter million players will be getting their hands on it early.
Blizzard has announced that it's just begun sending out beta invites to a total of 275,000 testers, which will almost certainly result in a good chunk of people shutting themselves in over the weekend instead of going out. We don't blame them.
Two things to keep in mind during this invite phase. First and foremost, don't click anything in a beta invite email. If it's legit, the information will appear in your Battle.net account so log in there to download the client. Scammers will be out in droves. The second is that part of the reason for this test is to make sure the queue system works and stress test the servers, so don't be surprised if you can't get in right away.
