Blizzard's new MOBA combines their popular franchises.
Blizzard's 'Heroes of the Storm' has a had a rocky beginning. Initially, Blizzard teased a new 'DOTA' built from Blizzard characters with influences from the now popular multiplayer online battle arena genre ('League of Legends'). After a tussle with Valve, wherein Valve emerged with the 'DOTA' (Defense of the Ancients) name for their 'DOTA 2' gameBlizzard was left to rename their game 'Blizzard All-Stars' in a reflection of the combination of Starcraft, Warcraft, and Diablo franchises.
Fortunately, the 'Blizzards All-Stars' name is dead, and in its place is 'Heroes of the Storm.'
