Both Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk are leaving the company to pursue other passions.
Muzyka and Zeschuk might not be household names, but hardcore BioWare fans know the doctors well. Not only did they cofound the company, but were instrumental in the creation of games like 'Baldur's Gate,' 'Neverwinter Nights' and 'Knights of the Old Republic.' They were, up until now, the people that led the company as CEO (Muzyka) and Vice President (Zeschuk).
The pair have officially announced their retirement as of today, each going to do something else that's far removed from gaming. Greg Zeschuk is focusing on homebrew beer and is starting an interview show called The Beer Diaries where he talks to other brewers and, of course, samples tasty beer. Ray Muzyka is planning to spend more time with his family and become more involved in charitable organizations.
As Zeschuck writes on his blog, "I’ve reached in unexpected point in my life where I no longer have the passion that I once did for the company, for the games, and for the challenge of creation."
The pair have left BioWare in a strong position, with the massive 'Mass Effect' franchise to carry them forward into the future.
