Today marks the final release of the massive military sandbox.
'ArmA III' has gone through an array of public and private Alpha and Beta programs in order to reach today, the public release of the full version of the hyper-real massive military sandbox title. While the first two 'ArmA' titles were somewhat known and popular, recent events including the rise of last's years 'ArmA II" mod 'DayZ' as well as a turbulent set of espionage allegations for Bohemia Interactive which resulted in the incarceration of some of the developers have helped to build a strong interest in the game, which has further been bolstered by the long Beta period.
From Bohemia Interactive, "Arma III is a tactical military shooter: a combined arms military game with an infantry focus. It is also a platform for the creation, sharing and playing of user-created content."
The launch of the game will include the following content,
Altis (270 km2) & Stratis (20 km2)
12 Singleplayer Showcases
3 Faction Showcases
9 Multiplayer Scenarios
10 Firing Drill Challenges
20+ Vehicles
40+ Weapons
5 Factions
Scenario Editor (with Steam Workshop integration)
Modding Support
In addition, the developer has announced free post-launch DLC in the form of the "Arma III campaign, will be deployed across three gameplay driven episodes: Survive, Adapt, Win."
'ArmA III' is now available from Steam.
