It's $99, it's tiny, and it plays a little more than just iTunes.
The new Apple TV was finally announced in an official manner, and it's just about everything we expected. It's relatively inexpensive at $99, though that's quickly becoming the standard for media streaming devices.
Apple TV is small and slick looking, measuring in at four inches square and only an inch or so high. It allows access to television shows, movies and music that you've rented or downloaded from iTunes, which you can grab wirelessly thanks to built in wireless N.
What Apple TV can't do is 1080p. Though you've got the lone option of HDMI as an output for the device, you'll only be getting a maximum of 720p. It's enough for most television shows and for Netflix movies, which will be available to stream on the device.
You'll be able to pick up the Apple TV later this month for $99.
