The company's new flagship smartphone has been unveiled.
At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week, Acer has revealed the latest addition to their Android mobile lineup. The Liquid Jade 2 is designed for a superior multimedia experience.
The smartphone features a 5.5 inch Full HD 1080p AMOLED display with support for 100 percent of the NTSC color gamut and Zero Air Gap technology for improved readability under the sun. In addition, the device incorporates the Award-winning Liquid Jade design language with a sleek and slim profile, a curved back cover that fits comfortably in the hand, and a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass screen. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB ROM. In addition, users can access up to 1TB of hybrid storage, which combines local storage with cloud storage on select models. A 21MP rear camera with PDAF (phase-detection autofocus), dual-LED flash, and 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) video recording is integrated as well, along with an 8MP front camera with an 84-degree wide angle and a "Pause N Shoot" selfie mode. Likewise, a "Professional Camera Mode" offers advanced adjustments for white balance, ISO, EV, and focus.
The Liquid Jade 2 also includes support for high-resolution audio, and offers DTS Headphone:X and DTS Play-Fi technology. DTS Heaphone:X can simulate an immersive 11.1 surround sound experience with any pair of headphones. Meanwhile, DTS Play:Fi allows users to stream audio from any app or any file in lossless quality over Wi-Fi to one or more Play-Fi-enabled speakers and components. Finally, LTE Cat.6 and 802.11ac dual-band MIMO wireless connectivity are included as well.
Pricing and availability have not been detailed yet. The Liquid Jade 2 will now serve as the successor to the previously released Liquid Jade Z.
