Sony had promised that instructions for ordering the Limited Edition 20th Anniversary PS4 Console would follow the PlayStation Experience keynote, but there was a significant wait. During the wait, Sony announced that those attendees at the show with golden bracelets will be able to order the console at the show.
General information about the console follows:
To celebrate today's 20th Anniversary of the original PlayStation, Sony has announced a new, quite limited PS4 20th Anniversary Edition. The new console bundle, which not only includes an original PlayStation inspired console and controller, but also a matching camera and stand, will be up for pre-order this Saturday in the US and Canada with details coming at 10am PT as part of the PlayStation Experience keynote.
Not only does the console, controller, camera and stand feature a grey color meant to match the original PlayStation, but there are several smaller details. The controller's PS button for example features the colored PS logo, as does the console's hard drive bay cover. Even the camera has the four color PlayStation logo.
Even the controller's touchpad features a 20th Anniversary touch, and is etched with the PS button pattern.
The console's top surface is a mix between the glossy hard drive bay cover and a repeating etching of the four PlayStation button symbols. There is also an aluminum badge in the corner that denotes the 20th Anniversary title, as well as the specific number for each numbered console.
