Here we are at the end of January, and it just now occurs to me that we never did our annual “Your Year in Movie Titles” Roundtable for 2014. If you had to describe how your past year went using only movie titles (from any year), what would you choose?

We’ve played this game twice before, for 2012<\/a> and 2013<\/a>. Let’s see what new developments the past calendar year brought.<\/p>\n ‘The Interview’ and ‘The Negotiator’ because I locked in not one, but two awesome promotions at my other job.<\/p>\n ‘Obsession’, because ‘Interstellar’ governed my heart, mind and soul through 35mm, IMAX and 70mm IMAX showings, Hans Zimmer’s deluxe edition soundtrack, and collectible IMAX-exclusive poster art.<\/p>\n ‘Parenthood’ because home life only gets more complicated the older my three girls get.<\/p>\n ‘Home Alone’ because my wife and children went to Arizona during a week that I couldn’t leave work – and as much as I love them, it was pretty amazing. I got caught up on ‘Game of Thrones’ and watched ‘Snowpiercer’!<\/p>\n ‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York’ because I left my wife and children for a week-long vacation.<\/p>\n ‘Tommy’ (Great name!) ‘Four Christmases’ ‘Packing Up’ Pretty much all of 2014 revolved around getting married. I’ve been living in the same house for more than a decade, and it wasn’t exactly the most wife-friendly place on the planet. With the state the carpet was in, I’m not sure it was the most Adam-friendly place either! To make sure that my bride-to-be would be comfortable there and to prepare for all the renovations that needed to be done, I moved out! <\/p>\n A bunch of my old stuff was sold off or given away, and the rest was put into storage. My in-laws were kind enough to let me hole up in their guest bedroom for the two or three weeks the renovations were supposed to take… and they dragged on for several months with a price tag about ten grand over what was originally estimated.
