The doldrums of summer continue with this pretty dang thin week for videogame releases. We have a summer movie tie-in, a fan fave collection, a long-running golf series and a groovy-looking little PSN title. If you’re hoping for some cheap tide-me-overs until the good stuff comes toward the end of summer, you just may want to check out this week’s low-priced offerings.

‘The Smurfs’, the movie, made a ton of money worldwide, for its lowest common denominator and nostalgia appeal. Of course, it had to also have a family friendly videogame! The first ‘Smurfs’ game was released by Ubisoft for the DS and Wii, and shouldn’t be confused with the same company’s ‘The Smurfs Dance Party’. The game was described as a “series of fun and educational mini-games and read-along stories.”<\/em> ‘Smurfs 2<\/a>‘ is a platformer that seeks to capture all the majesty that the ‘Smurfs 2’ movie will surely also have. This title can be yours for $40.<\/p>\n
