In a strange and shocking turn of events, prolific action movie director Tony Scott died on Sunday from an apparent suicide. He was 68 years-old.

Details are still sketchy at this time. Scott was seen jumping “without hestitation” from the Vincent Thomas Bridge in Los Angeles. A suicide note was later found in his office. The contents of that note have not been made public.<\/p>\n
Scott is best known as director of such blockbuster hits as ‘Top Gun’, ‘Beverly Hills Cop II’ and ‘Crimson Tide’. His working relationship with star Denzel Washington in the latter led to four subsequent collaborations: ‘Man on Fire’, ‘D\u00e9j\u00e0 Vu’, ‘The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3’ and the runaway train thriller ‘Unstoppable’, which was the director’s last movie. Widely regarded as his best film was the Quentin Tarantino-scripted ‘True Romance’.<\/p>\n
Scott was also an active producer, both in the movies (next year’s ‘Out of the Furnace’ recently completed filming) and on TV. With his brother Ridley Scott, he produced the primetime dramas ‘Numb3rs’ and ‘The Good Wife’.<\/p>\n
