We get a chance to take it to Umbrella once again, the opportunity to play as one of the world’s greatest ninjas and, of course, we get to fulfill the childhood dream of piloting a giant mech.

Ninja Gaiden 3 (360, PS3)

Ever since the ‘Ninja Gaiden’ series was rebooted, Tomonobu Itagaki has been the man at the helm, but that’s been changed for ‘Ninja Gaiden 3‘ .The new lead is Yosuke Hayashi, who took care of the ‘Sigma’ games. Early reviews fall on complete opposite sides of the spectrum. IGN gave the new game a 3.0, while Official Xbox Magazine went with an 8.0.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City (360, PS3)

You can play as either a U.S. Special Operations agent or an Umbrella Security Service officer in ‘Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City‘, a third-person shooter that takes place between the second and third ‘Resident Evil’ games. One of the interesting aspects of the game is the ability to make theoretical, “What if?” decisions, such as killing off beloved characters from other ‘Resident Evil’ titles.

Armored Core V (360, PS3)

I freaking love mechs. After ‘Robot Jox’, I started preparing for a future career as a mech pilot, ready to defend my country in a totally awesome robot. That being said, the ‘Armored Core’ series just hasn’t grabbed me. It doesn’t have the right feel to it. ‘Armored Core V‘ is said to be more tactical and less twitch-oriented, though, and that sounds like the kind of mech play I dig.

A nest of sequels and spin-offs carry the game industry this week, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
