Fighting game fans finally get their hands on a long-awaited crossover, and baseball fans get their pick of a few different titles. Why can’t every week be this awesome?

Mass Effect 3 (360, PC, PS3)

Remember back when the first ‘Mass Effect’ launched and only the sci-fi RPG crowd drooled over it? Since then, the series has gone on to become one of the most anticipated releases of the year. ‘Mass Effect 3‘ is set to be the final entry in the series, but let’s be honest, companies don’t just leave money sitting on the table. There are bound to be more eventually.

‘Mass Effect 3’ features streamlined combat and a new cover system, as well as the option of Kinect voice control for your squad mates, which should prove interesting even if it’s not practical to use. The game also introduces a multiplayer co-op mode that can influence the single player campaign. Completing each of these missions will make the perfect ending of the game easier to achieve, but they’re not required in order to get there.

Street Fighter X Tekken (360, PS3, Vita)

As cool as games like ‘Marvel vs. Capcom’ are, the combination of two legendary fighting game franchises takes things to the next level. As the first game in a two-part series, ‘Street Fighter X Tekken’ brings Namco’s fighters to a 2D plane. The second, which will be made by Namco, will put ‘Street Fighter’ characters into a 3D world. ‘Street Fighter X Tekken‘ is filled with cool playable characters, and there are even a few goofy ones in the mix, like Pac-Man and Mega Man. Oh, but not the Mega Man from the games; this is the hideous Mega Man from the original box art, for some reason.

Note: The Vita version of this game won’t be out today. Amazon says the 31st, though other sources I’ve read say “this fall.” Bummer.

MLB 12: The Show (PS3, Vita)
Major League Baseball 2K12 (360, DS, PC, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii)

It’s baseball time, and for most people that means picking up the latest 2K game, but PlayStation owners have to make a choice. I’m told that choosing between ‘MLB 12: The Show‘ and ‘Major League Baseball 2K12′ is a no-brainer, with ‘The Show’ coming out on top, but I’ve no idea personally. I’m pretty far out of the baseball loop.

If you’re an Xbox 360 owner, you can (and should) take advantage of a very cool deal. Instead of paying $59 for ‘2K12’, you can pay $69 and get the ‘MLB 2k12/NBA 2K12 Combo Pack‘. Adding in a game that sells for $39 new for just $10 extra? Yes please!

If it were just ‘Mass Effect 3’, this week would be amazing enough, but there’s also so much more.
