I stand by the spirit of the post, though. It would be way cooler if ‘SSX’ had come out then, because I wouldn’t have to split my attention between it and my Vita. At least school is on mid-winter break, so I can dedicate a little extra time to gaming. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a new ‘SSX’ game and I’m damned excited about this one. The ‘SSX’ series always offered me something that other titles didn’t, and I’m hoping that the franchise reboot (or re-imagining or whatever it is) will continue with that trend. My sister and I used to play games together back when we both lived with the folks. One of our favorites was ‘SSX 3’. ‘Tricky’ was good as well, but we played the third game for hours on end. ‘SSX’ has a decidedly different mood and gets rid of the look that was so appealing in earlier games, but if the gameplay is still there, I’ll be a happy man.

Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition (360, PS3)

Kan we all agree that we’re sick of words with that should start with “c” starting with “k” instead? No? Well, I’ll soon change that. Of kourse, it’s a bit of a konundrum for the folks in kharge of the franchise – dropping the kustomary “k” would khange things significantly. It would kertainly help klear things up, though. The Komplete Edition of ‘Mortal Kombat’ komes with all the downloadable kontent that’s kurrently available. Other than that, it’s essentially the same experience. Apparently, the game also komes with download kodes for the kinematic disaster that was the original ‘Mortal Kombat’ film. It was a bad flick, sure, but that’s a pretty kool thing to pack in.

Binary Domain (360, PS3)

I know very little of ‘Binary Domain’, but I’m interested to see what the consensus is when the game releases. It was made by the people behind ‘Yakuza’, which is a much hailed series that’s decidedly different from this squad-based shooter. Reviews look decent. This one might be worth renting out of sheer curiosity.

A version of ‘Mortal Kombat’ that comes with all previously released DLC and a squad-based shooter from Sega make up this week’s new videogame releases.
