Even people who don’t play games know the name, and they’re not quite as down on it as they tend to be on ‘World of Warcraft’ or ‘Guitar Hero’. ‘Modern Warfare 3’ promises plenty of new single-player adventures, but multi-player is the real attraction here. Killstreaks have been re-envisioned, as has the ranking system. New game modes have been added, tweaks were made in gameplay, and an optional Elite subscription gives you access to your stats, monthly DLC and more.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (360, PC, PS3)

When I was 14, I played so much ‘Daggerfall’ that I walked face-first into a wall fully expecting that I’d climb up it like my character in the game did. The last two games in the ‘Elder Scrolls’ series haven’t quite captured my attention in the same way, but I fully expect ‘Skyrim’ to consume my life – or at least next weekend. I’ve been avoiding too much information about the game, since learning mechanics and making characters is what I live for, but I’ve heard a developer quoted as saying that ‘Skyrim’ plays more like ‘Fallout’ than ‘Oblivion’. That gets me very excited. The only question now: 360 or PC?

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (360, PS3)

Have I mentioned how much I love the trend of classic games getting the HD treatment? Well, I’m going to mention it again. I love the trend of classic games getting the HD treatment. A lot. Being able to play the games I love without suffering black bars and chunky graphics is amazing. The ‘Metal Gear Solid HD Collection’ includes ‘Metal Gear Solid 2’, ‘Metal Gear Solid 3’ and ‘Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker’. You’ll also be able to access versions of ‘Metal Gear’ and ‘Metal Gear 2’ from within ‘Metal Gear Solid 3’.

Well, nothing big coming out this week, guess we can just move on.
