Last week was pretty devastating, but Netflix makes up for it this week by penning a new deal with ABC\/Disney that brings plenty of new content. The deal also returns some of the stuff we’ve been missing, including the show ‘Lost’, which I should really get around to watching the rest of. Only one movie that I consider worth mentioning is leaving the stream too, and that’s nice to see.

  1. ‘Strange Days’ (11\/7):<\/strong> Somewhere between my favorite Katheryn Bigelow film (‘Point Break’) and ‘The Hurt Locker’, the Oscar winning director took a stab at sci-fi with ‘Strange Days<\/a>‘. I’ve always felt that this was kind of a zero calorie “Blade Runner Lite,” but in a good way. There are some silly technology things in here, but it’s a cool flick nonetheless. You can’t not love Ralph Fiennes, and I have a special place in my heart for Juliette Lewis. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    Entering the Stream<\/h5>\n

    1. ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’:<\/strong> I also can’t help but love Andrew Lloyd Webber, and ‘Jesus Christ Superstar<\/a>‘ is one of his best. Unlike most Jesus-related movies, the main focus here is on Judas, which gives it a pretty fresh feel. The film’s also got some pretty rockin’ music. <\/li>\n
    2. ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’:<\/strong> Look, I’m with you on this one. ‘Gnomeo and Juliet<\/a>‘ looks awful. All of the jokes in the trailer were either bad puns or pop culture references that won’t be funny five years from now. But a pretty reliable friend of mine says that it’s great, so I’m going to give it a go. Hey, it’s got Patrick Stewart and Maggie Smith in it. How bad can it be? Probably pretty bad. <\/li>\n
    3. ‘X-Men: Evolution’:<\/strong> Here’s the thing about ‘X-Men: Evolution’<\/a>. I’m about to tell you that it’s my favorite and possibly the best X-Men cartoon ever made, but you’re going to watch the first episode and be immediately turned off by how awful it is. Yeah, it’s bad. The season gets better, and then Seasons 2 through 4 are stunning. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cartoon slowly build up to an epic fight over three seasons aside from this one. Give it a watch and stick with it. You’ll be glad you did. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
