There’s not a ton of movement in the Netflix stream this week, but a few interesting things are on the way. Specifically, we get two incredibly popular TV shows for sci-fi and horror fans. You know\u2026 nerds!<\/p>\n

Leaving the Stream<\/h5>\n

  1. ‘The Haunting in Connecticut’ (10\/14):<\/strong> It wasn’t highly rated by critics and it didn’t score brilliantly with fans. It’s not a bad movie, but it’s not exactly genius either. One thing I will say about ‘The Haunting in Connecticut<\/a>‘ is that it scared the crap out of me. Then again, so do all horror movies. (And when I was a kid, the Polkaroo<\/a> did too. Hell, going back and watching that again, I get why.) <\/li>\n
  2. ‘The War of the Roses’ (10\/16):<\/strong> I’ve never seen ‘War of the Roses<\/a>‘, though I’ve heard good things. I’m off on a road trip this weekend, so this may be one of those times for Netflix on the iPhone. It’s a dark comedy that stars Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito. On top of that, DeVito directs. It’s up there until the 16th, so give it a go. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    New to the Stream<\/h5>\n

    1. ‘Torchwood: Miracle Day’:<\/strong> As Dail Whitley pointed out last week \u2013 and as the Netflix RSS feed only bothered to point out yesterday \u2013 the latest ‘Torchwood<\/a>‘ episodes are now up and ready for your viewing pleasure. I haven’t seen the entire thing yet, but what I did see was excellent. This is how the sci-fi drama thing is supposed to be done. <\/li>\n
    2. ‘The Walking Dead’:<\/strong> Pretty much everyone who watches ‘The Walking Dead<\/a>‘ loves ‘The Walking Dead’. Robert Kirman writes a damn fine comic, and AMC is all about making high quality television. It’s a formula that works. I’m not as high on the show as other folks, but it’s worth watching at least for a great performance by Michael Rooker. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
