Instead, I get to talk about boy games with race cars and planes and zombies!

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record (360, PS3)

I’m loving this thing that Capcom’s doing – releasing new versions of older games with new content at a nice low price. It’s a really nice trend to see. Try as I might, I just can’t get every game when it comes out. Having the option to buy later and get some bonus content with the purchase is very cool.

The bonus content in ‘Off the Record’ is exactly what I was hoping for since the game was first announced. Gone is Chuck Greene (will anyone really miss him?), and returned is Frank West. Along with the first game’s protagonist, Capcom has added back in photography, which was one of my favorite things about the first game.

Forza Motorsport 4 (360)

When serious racing game fans talk about their preferences, ‘Forza’ is always near the top of the list. It’s a high quality racing series, and there’s plenty more to love in the latest installment. One particularly nice feature is the ability to select from multiple cars after winning a race instead of getting stuck with whatever’s been assigned for you.

‘Forza’ is also one of the first games to use Kinect as a game enhancer rather than a game mode. Sure, you can play the game with Kinect only, but the really interesting feature is head-tracking. It’s a feature that lets you change where the in game camera is aiming just by looking slightly left or slightly right with your head. PC gamers have been using it for a while now, but it’s brand new to consoles.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon (360, PS3)

What happened to all the airplane games anyway? They haven’t gone the way of space simulators quite yet, but after the brief love that ‘Crimson Skies’ got, they’ve gone very much under the radar.

‘Ace Combat’ is one series that has managed to stick around by delivering the same kind of game play that fans expect while managing to innovate as well. You’ll get to pilot helicopters and a stealth bomber, but the developers, Project Aces, seem to be most excited about a new feature that adds some excitement to longer range dog fights.

There are too many videogames to write about this week, which is just fine since I’d rather not try to think of something interesting to say about ‘Just Dance 3’ or the latest iteration of the ‘Dance Dance Revolution’ franchise.
