It’s a multiplayer ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ game that harkens back to the days of ‘Baldur’s Gate’, or even further back to ‘Gauntlet’.

I had a chance to watch and play ‘Daggerdale’ at the Penny Arcade Expo this year, and I can’t speak highly enough of what I experienced. Obviously, a ten-minute play session isn’t representative of the whole game, but it’s a decent indicator of what you’re in for. ‘Daggerdale’ seems like the wonderful old-school hack and slash action that any co-op fan will salivate over.

Incidentally, you won’t find Amazon links for the 360 and PS3 above since the game is exclusively available as a download.

Dead or Alive Dimensions (3DS)

As much as it saddens me to see a ‘Dead or Alive’ game move forward without Tomonobu Itagaki, I have to admit to having a great deal of interest in ‘Dead or Alive Dimensions’. For starters, it’s got Ayane, who has been my go-to character since the first game. There’s more of course.

The game looks surprisingly good, and has had (at the time of this writing) fairly favorable reviews. It offers a chance to play as some of the best characters in the series and is the first 3D venture for the series.

Dirt 3 (360, PS3)

It can be hard to think of names for things. You should have seen the list of ridiculous ideas we had before we went with The Bonus View. Really, there was some awful stuff in there – much of it suggested by me. So I’m going to give Codemasters a break on making a dirt racing game called ‘Dirt’.

‘Dirt 3’, as the name implies, is the third game in the series. This isn’t necessarily a fun general interest game or something to pick up on a whim, but if you like racing and you like dirt, you can’t go wrong with ‘Dirt 3’. Seriously though, the reviews are pretty good.

While I wouldn’t consider any of this week’s videogames to be “a hotly anticipated blockbuster hit” or any variation of that phrase, there’s still plenty of good gaming to be had, including a multiplayer ‘D&D’ game like we haven’t seen in years.

[137,144
198,516,2130,3020,2334,3021,4
