'American Carol' Coming to Blu-ray

Red state comedy is coming to Blu-ray, with Vivendi Visual Entertainment announcing a January street date for the satire 'An American Carol.'
Directed by 'Airplane!' auteur David Zucker and starring Leslie Nielsen, Kelsey Grammer, and Kevin Farley, the right-leaning comedy takes aim at Hollywood liberalism via a lighthearted remake of 'A Christmas Carol.'
Vivendi has alerted retailers that it will debut the Blu-ray on January 6, day-and-date with the standard DVD.
There are no tech or supplement specs confirmed as of yet, but as always, watch this space.
Suggested retail for the Blu-ray has been set at $34.99.

Katt Williams Goes 'Pimpin' on Blu-ray

Making his high-def debut, comedy superstar Katt Williams has set an early-November Blu-ray release for his concert film 'It's Pimpin' Pimpin'.
Featuring 80 minutes of Williams' latest comedy stylings and captured entirely with high-def cameras, Vivendi Visual Entertainment will bring 'Katt Williams: It's Pimpin' Pimpin' to Blu-ray on November 11, day-and-date with the standard DVD.
There are no confirmed tech specs as of yet, and at presstime, Vivendi has not announced any bonus features. We'll keep you posted.
Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $29.98.

Vivendi Brings 'Speed and Angels' to Blu-ray

Vivendi Visual Entertainment is planning to bring the acclaimed military documentary 'Speed and Angels' to Blu-ray in mid-September.
In 2003, director Peyton Wilson was granted unprecedented access to the world of U.S. Navy fighters, and captured the most intimate film ever made on military pilots. Vivendi will release 'Speed and Angels' on Blu-ray on September 16, day-and-date with a standard DVD version.
Tech details for the high-def version include a BD-25 single-layer presentation and 1080p video (no audio information is available as of yet, but stay tuned).
There are currently no announced supplements, but we'll keep you posted as we receive future spec updates.

Ben Stein Gets 'Expelled' on Blu-ray

Bringing the intelligent design debate to high-def, Vivendi Visual has announced an October Blu-ray release for Ben Stein's controversial documentary 'Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed.'
Drawing lines in the intelligent design versus evolution debate (with Stein falling squarely on the side of the former), 'Expelled' was praised by religious leaders and condemned by scientists in equal measure. Released through the Vivendi Visual Entertainment label, the company has set a October 21 Blu-ray release for the incendiary doc, day-and-date with the standard DVD.
