The estimated price for the 42 inch dual-core powered Android set is right around $1,000.
Lenovo, perhaps best known for their business oriented laptops, is entering the TV market this month. It's an interesting move for the company, and one that could pay off big if done right.
The new K71 is a 42 inch smart TV that runs on the Android operating system. It comes packed with the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android, built in Wi-Fi, 3D capabilities and a 1.5GHz processor. The expected price is just 6,499 yuan, which comes out to just over $1,000.
Preorders for the K71 start tomorrow in China, but there's no word yet on whether these will see American soil.

Lenovo is Working on a Smart TV of Its Own
Thu Dec 01, 2011 at 10:00 AM ETTags: Lenovo, Smart TVs (all tags)
The company will be launching a set in early 2012.
When it comes to controlling an HTPC or compatible smart TV, Lenovo is a name that leaps to mind immediately. Their one handed remote is slick and constantly improving, making it high on the list for many.
It seems the company isn't content to just control other people's products anymore. Lenovo is now working on a smart TV that's set to release in early 2012. The TV will be internet connected and will likely turn into the rumored Lenovo Cloud.
As far as other details go, it's all fuzzy - or more accurately, nonexistent. We'll certainly hear more by the time CES rolls around. Until then it's hard to tell if this could be a real contender on the market or just a one-off that falls completely under everyone's radar.

Lenovo Introduces World's Smallest HTPC at $349
Tue Nov 29, 2011 at 02:00 PM ETTags: Lenovo, HTPCs (all tags)
It comes packed with an Atom processor, Radeon graphics card and four gigs of RAM.
Lenovo's new HTPC is cheap and equipped with plenty of impressive components, but the biggest feature is also its smallest. According to Lenovo, the IdeaCentre Q180 is the world's smallest HTPC at around the same size as a paperback book.
The Q180 uses a dual-core 2.13GHz Atom processor and Radeon HD 6450A graphics to handle your video needs. You can upgrade the computer with a Blu-ray drive capable of playing back Blu-ray 3D titles. Either way, thanks to an HDMI output you'll get 7.1 channel surround and a 1080p resolution. You'll also find USB 3.0 support, for nice quick file transfers.
One of the coolest features of the Q180 is the VESA mount built right in. This allows you to attach it right to the back of your monitor or TV so you don't have to deal with deciding where to put it on your shelf.

Lenovo Sneaks Out a Slick HTPC Remote
Wed Dec 30, 2009 at 10:00 AM ETTags: HTPC, Lenovo (all tags)
Like a kid sneaking into a store to put his band’s CD on the shelf to see if someone will buy it, Lenovo put out a new HTPC remote without bothering to mention it to anyone. The new remote can be found in the wild now and ordered online direct from Lenovo.
Lenovo may be a familiar name, but not one associated with fun. They make computers for business people. They make laptops for productivity. They make ThinkPads and IdeaPads and computers for education. They’re not the guys people tend to think of when they think entertainment.
Maybe that’s why their new remote – model number 57Y6336 – slipped under the radar. It goes by the moniker of Lenovo Multimedia Remote with Keyboard, but the remote looks to be a bit wieldier than its name.
This palm sized remote features a full QWERTY keyboard along with a few multimedia keys that provide shortcuts to commonly used functions. Its keys are bigger than that of a smart phone, but share a similar design. A trackball sits below the keypad along with left and right mouse buttons. Though the trackball looks like it might get in the way a bit, all in all this looks like a pretty solid option for those who don’t want to mess about with full keyboards or motion sensitive mice.
The Lenovo Multimedia Remote with Keyboard is available online from Lenovo at a cool $59.

Small and Simple, Meet Lenovo’s Q700 Home Theater PC
Thu Aug 13, 2009 at 02:00 PM ETTags: Lenovo (all tags)
Say what you will about the specs, there’s no question about the design. Lenovo’s newly launched IdeaCentre Q series is small, simple, and slick.
At a price of $499, the Q700 with built in 320GB hard drive and 4GB of PC2-5300 DDR2 RAM is out to replace your DVR and take their place as your preferred streaming device.
Not a bad system for the price, there are a few sticking points that might make potential buyers think twice. The processor isn’t much, just a Dual-Core E5200. Enough for video and audio certainly, but those looking to run more intensive programs may find it unsatisfactory. The lack of a Blu-ray reader/recorder puts a bit of a damper on the PC as well, though there is an included DVD recorder.
More details as well as further details and pricing are available at Lenovo’s site.
