'Tetris' is the Best Selling PSN Game of 2011

'Black Ops' DLC makes up the three most popular downloads.

The folks over at Game Informer got their hands on a list of the top 10 best selling games on PSN for 2011. While some of the titles are expected, there are a few on there that come as a bit of a surprise.

The best selling game of 2011, not including full PS3 games or Mini titles, was the old go-to 'Tetris.' It's available on practically anything capable of playing games, even crappy old cell phones, but it still sells like crazy. Also topping the list are titles like 'Resident Evil 4,' Back to the Future,' 'Castle Crashers' and 'Limbo.'

PSN's top 10 paid downloads list takes out the stipulation that Mini games aren't included and we see 'Angry Birds' at number 7 - the only game to make the list. The top three are all 'Black Ops' content, as is number six. Interestingly enough, training points for 'MLB 11 The Show' appear in fourth place while training points for 'MLB 10 The Show' take ninth.

'Angry Birds' Developers Reportedly Turn Down $2.25 Billion Buyout Offer

Apparently, working conditions at Zynga are just that bad.

$2.25 billion dollars. Let that sink in a moment. $2.25 billion. That's enough to buy a B-2 stealth bomber and still have $50 million to spare. That's, well, that's a crazy large amount of money. Now think about turning that down. That's exactly what Rovi did.

It's just been let out that Rovi, the company behind 'Angry Birds,' was offered $2.25 billion in cash and stock as part of an acquisition deal by Zynga. Rovi said they'd have to turn down the lucrative offer based on a dislike of the company culture. Long work hours, overbearing managers and stressful deadlines are among the complaints.

Zynga - a name you'll recognize if you play 'FarmVille' or many of the other Facebook games floating around - offered a $950 million deal to PopCap games but was turned down for the same reason.

This general worker unhappiness with Zynga is getting attention. Large developers and publishers in more traditional games will certainly be going after the best and brightest of Zynga by offering a better work environment and more creative freedom.

Roku Players Get Their First Game - Angry Birds

Roku is in talks with more casual game companies to expand their selection.

The latest announcement for content coming to Roku players is more than just video streaming - though video streaming is a part of it. The company is bringing gaming to their internet TV boxes.

"Just as we were the first to enable Netflix to stream instantly to the TV," says Roku CEO Anthony Wood, "we intend to be the catalyst for transforming the way people play casual games-starting with Angry Birds-on the biggest screen in the home."

This summer, Roku will add 'Angry Birds,' 'Angry Birds Seasons' and 'Angry Birds Rio' to their store, but it doesn't end there. The 'Angry Birds' animated shorts will be available through the players, as well as access to 'Angry Birds' merchandise, directly through the online store.
