Anchor Bay has announced two new Blu-ray bundles for a September release, boxing together the first season of 'Masters of Horror' and three of its biggest zombie classics.
Marking the first such bundles for the company, Anchor Bay will bring 'Blu-ray Masters of Horror Bundle (Season One)' and 'Blu-ray Zombie Bundle' to the format on September 9.
'Masters of Horror Bundle' will see all four volumes of the hit series packaged together for the first time, each identical to the previous stand-alone versions Anchor Bay released last year.
'Zombie Bundle' will contain 'Dawn of the Dead (1979),' 'Day of the Dead (1985)' and 'Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn,' which are also identical to the currently-available versions.
Offering no discount versus buying each title separately, suggested list price for 'Masters of Horror Bundle' is $119.88, and $89.84 for the 'Zombie Bundle.'
As always, you'll find listings for the 'Masters of Horror Bundle' and 'Zombie Bundle' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where they are indexed under September 9.

Anchor Bay to Cash in 'Mad Money' on Blu-ray
Wed Jul 30, 2008 at 11:00 AM ETTags: Disc Announcements, Anchor Bay (all tags)
In an early alert to retailers, Anchor Bay has set a November Blu-ray arrival for the comedy 'Mad Money.'
Starring Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah and Katie Holmes, 'Mad Money' failed to ring up much in the way of receipts at the box office during its brief theatrical run earlier this year, and likewise did little business when it hit DVD last May.
Anchor Bay will give the Callie Khourie-directed heist comedy another shot on Blu-ray when it hits stores November 18.
Given the early announcement, there are no tech specs or supplement details as of yet. We'll keep you posted.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray has been set at $34.95.
You'll find preliminary specs for 'Mad Money' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where it's indexed under November 18.

In a rare Blu-ray-videogame tie-in, Anchor Bay has announced an October Blu-ray bow for the animated direct-to-video game prequel 'Dead Space: Downfall'.
A full-length animated movie, 'Dead Space: Downfall' will debut on Blu-ray October 28 (day-and-date with the standard DVD), a week after the PlayStation 3 game it supports, 'Dead Space,' hits stores from Electronic Arts.
Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and a DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround soundtrack.
Extras shared between both versions are limited, with only a single "Grave Robber" deleted scene.
Exclusive to the Blu-ray will be a pair of cheat codes for the EA game, and a Digital Copy (standard def) on a second disc.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray has been set at $34.95.

Anchor Bay to Box 'Halloween' for Blu-ray

In an early trade announcement, Anchor Bay says it is planning to issue a six-disc box set of 'Halloween' that will include a Blu-ray copy of the classic chiller.
According to a new advert appearing in this week's trades, Anchor Bay will celebrate the 30th birthday of John Carpenter's seminal 1978 slasher film with the 'Halloween: 30th Anniversary Commemorative Edition,' due in stores sometime this October (exact street date TBA)
Included in the six-disc set will be the same Blu-ray single-disc edition that Anchor Bay released on the format last year. Also included in the set are standard DVD editions of both the original 1978 and Extended TV Editions of 'Halloween,' plus the DiviMax releases of 'Halloween 4' and 'Halloween 5.'
Though no additional Blu-ray content or other exclusives are planned for the release, the set will come housed in a collectible package that includes a miniature bust of Michael Myers.
No suggested list price has been confirmed as of yet, but as always, we'll keep you posted.
In the meantime, we've added a listing for 'Halloween: 30th Anniversary Commemorative Edition' to the "Release Dates Pending" section of our Blu-ray Release Schedule. Stay tuned.

'Hellraiser,' 'Children of the Corn' Planned for Blu-ray
Thu Jul 03, 2008 at 01:00 PM ETTags: Disc Announcements, Anchor Bay (all tags)
There's no date yet, but Anchor Bay says it is planning to bring the '80s horror faves 'Hellraiser' and 'Children to the Corn' to Blu-ray sometime in the next few months.
Two of the most popular scarefests of their time, both 'Hellraiser' and 'Children of the Corn' would go on to amass their own devoted cult followings as well as spawn a seemingly never-ending series of sequels.
With both titles among the hottest DVD sellers in Anchor Bay's library, the company says they are currently planning to bring both the original 'Hellraiser' and 'Children of the Corn' to Blu-ray as early as this Halloween, or at the latest by the first quarter of 2009.
Given the early nature of the news, there is no word on specs or supplemental details, although both titles have recently been remastered in HD for airing on cable and satellite networks.
We'll certainly keep you posted as soon as further word from Anchor Bay comes to us. Stay tuned.
