'The Prisoner' Blu-ray Detailed

As previously reported, A&E will bring the 1968 classic 'The Prisoner: Complete Series' starring Patrick McGoohan to Blu-ray on October 27.
The five disc set includes all 17 episodes in 1080p video, Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, and tons of supplements:
"Don't Knock Yourself Out": this exclusive, feature-length documentary is the definitive look at the production of THE PRISONER, told by those involved in its creation. It includes a combination of archive and newly-filmed interviews with nearly 400 people, including Amette Andre, Bernard Williams, David Tomblin, Derren Nesbitt, Peter Wyngarde, Anton Rodgers, Michael Grade, George Baker and Peter Bowles.
Additional featurettes ("The Pink Prisoner:": Peter Wyngarde pays tribute to the series in this unique cross between an interview and comedy sketch and "You Make Sure it Fits": music editor Eric Mival discusses his role behind the scenes in making 'The Prisoner' and provides a unique look at the Music Bible for the show.
Newly restored original edit of "Arrival" with an optional music-only soundtrack featuring Wilfred Josephs' complete and abandoned score.
Original edit of the episode "The Chimes of Big Ben."
Production crew audio commentaries on seven episodes.
Image Archive: individual galleries of over 1,200 stills are featured throughout this set, including episodic shots, generic/PR Photos, coverage of the original press conference in 1967 and Jack Shampan's designs.
Archive material, including textless titles with clean themes by Ron Grainer, Wilfred Josephs, and Robert Farnon, as well as material from Rover, Foreign 'Filing Cabinet' title footage and the McGoohan photo montage from "Arrival."
Production Paperwork Archive: original scripts for each episode, along with other rarely-seen production documentation, press releases, call sheets and other memorabilia. This unique collection is sourced from the personal archives of Tony Sloman, Steven Ricks, and Simon Coward and is reproduced here with their permission and assistance. (DVD-ROM Feature).

'The Universe Megaset' Announced for Blu-ray

A&E will be bringing the epic series 'The Universe Megaset' to Blu-ray in September.
All 43 original episodes of the first three seasons will be available in high-definition on September 29.
There's no word on tech specs yet, but extras will include a Backyard Astronomers featurette, Universe Facts, and a photo gallery.
Suggested list price is $179.95.

A&E will be bringing the 1968 sci-fi classic 'The Prisoner: Complete Series' to Blu-ray in October.
The British series starring Patrick McGoohan will be available in high-definition on October 27.

A&E to Launch 'Crusades' on Blu-ray this September

In an early announcement, A&E has set an early-September Blu-ray release for the acclaimed History Channel documentary 'The Crusades: Crescent & the Cross.'
Narrated by Keith David and mixing CGI with live-action recreations, this 2005 broadcast special will receive a September 2 Blu-ray debut via A&E Home Video.
There are few tech specs announced beyond 1080 video (1.78:1), and no announced supplement features. Watch this space for further updates as they come to us.

A&E has announced a late-March Blu-ray release for the acclaimed British mini-series production of 'Pride & Prejudice.'
Starring Colin Firth and produced for the BBC in 1995, A&E will release the complete 327-minute series on Blu-ray March 31.
There are few tech specs announced beyond 1080 video (1.78:1), and no announced supplement features. Watch this space for final details in the days ahead.

Paul McCartney to Release First Blu-ray with 'Space Within Us'

Rock legend Paul McCartney is releasing his first Blu-ray, with A&E announcing a November bow for the concert film 'The Space Within Us.'
In 2005, McCartney crossed America with his record-breaking, sold-out US tour. Captured with twenty-five hi-def cameras, 'Paul McCartney: The Space Within Us' presents the complete show that contains over two dozen musical masterpieces, including such Beatles classics as 'Eleanor Rigby,' 'Yesterday,' 'Penny Lane' and 'Hey Jude.'
A&E Home Video will debut the Blu-ray on November 18.
There are no tech specs or supplement details announced as of yet, but watch this space.

A&E Dives into Blu with the History Channel's 'Universe'

A&E Home Video is jumping into Blu-ray with their debut high-def release, the hit History Channel series 'The Universe.'
Long one of the leading distributors of television and documentary programming on DVD, 'The Universe: Season One' will mark A&E's entrance into Blu when it hits stores on October 14.
Spread across three discs, all 13 first-season episodes will be presented in 1080i video (1.78:1) and standard Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround audio.
Extras on the set include the feature-length documentary "Beyond the Big Bang."
Suggested retail for the Blu-ray has been set at $79.98.
