Two new monitors have been revealed.
LG has announced the latest additions to its display monitor lineup. The new LG UltraFine 27-inch 5K and LG UltraFine 21.5-inch 4K monitors have been designed specifically to integrate seamlessly with the newest MacBook and Macbook Pro models.
"We are excited to be introducing two highly advanced displays capable of meeting the needs of even the most demanding Mac users," said Brian Kwon, president of LG Home Entertainment Company "Not only do these UltraFine displays offer stunning picture quality, they will usher in a new age of connectivity, helping creative users achieve optimal efficiency in their homes, studios or offices."
The LG UltraFine 27-inch 5K monitor features an IPS panel with a resolution of 5120 x 2880 and 218 pixels per inch (ppi). In addition, the display offers wide viewing angles and support for 99 percent of the P3 color space. Likewise, the monitor has been optimized for the new MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt 3 running macOS 10.12 and later, allowing the display to receive and transfer 5K video, audio, and data from the new MacBook Pro while simultaneously charging it through a single Thunderbolt 3 cable. Three downstream USB Type-C ports, a front-facing camera, a microphone, and high fidelity speakers are integrated as well.
Meanwhile, the LG UltraFine 21.5-inch 4K monitor features an IPS panel with a 4K resolution of 4096 x 2304 and 219 ppi. In addition, the display also covers 99 percent of the P3 spectrum, along with USB Type-C connectivity for video, data, and power over a single cable. Finally, the model includes a high-quality Rich Bass Speaker and an adjustable stand for enhanced ergonomics.
LG's UltraFine 21.5-inch 4K monitor will be available in November at Apple Stores for $699.95. The UltraFine 27-inch 5K monitor will be available in early December for $1299.95.
