And yes, it is a triumph.
You wouldn't think a LEGO game would be cause for a big honking SPOILER warning, yet here we are, warning you. Because SPOILERS.
Anyway, while on the surface, 'LEGO Dimensions' seems like Traveller's Tales' earnest attempt at a 'Skylanders' kind of deal, with all the cash-grabbery that entails, a lot of reviewers are reporting this is far, far from the truth. Case in point being the fact that it seems 'Portal''s universe plays more of a role in the shenanigans than advertised. We won't be jerks and spoil some of the other insane 'Portal' elements we're seeing and hearing about from there, but even folks who weren't planning on blowing the $99 for the starter set might want to have a look at the game's end credits, where everybody's favorite passive-aggressive-homicidal AI, GlaDOS, gets to sing one more song of latent hostility
Actually, that isn't even the full truth this time. Despite the bouncy tune, it's actually almost sad, from a GlaDOS that seems to genuinely miss Chell and trying to be cool about it. You'd almost feel bad for her, if not for the whole "tried to run a series of arduous portal gun tests on her forever and that's why Chell burned her alive" thing. Get ready to be real mad there's no 'Portal 3' coming in 3...2...1...
