Creepy is another word that comes to mind.
From publisher Nordic Games and developer The Astronauts, comes 'The Vanishing of Ethan Carter,' which seems to combine the lulling peacefulness with some disturbing brutality. The expectation here is for something creepy in combat free adventure/horror game manner.
The Astronauts is a developer founded by three developers who previously founded and ran People Can Fly/Epic Games Poland of 'Gears of War: Judgment,' 'Bulletstorm,' and 'Painkiller,' fame. Now though, their talents are directed in area of a non-shooter. Check out the two teasers, but be warned that the content may not be suitable for all viewers.
Though it hasn't yet been decided (or at least not publicly), 'The Vanishing of Ethan Carter' may be one of the first games to be published under the renewed THQ label. For now, only a PC version has been announced, but console versions remain a possibility. The Astronauts have also shared a webcomic to hell sell the game's mood.
