Good news, horror fans. 'Resident Evil 7 biohazard' wants to be the scariest entry in franchise history. And, thanks to last night's PlayStation E3 2016 Press Conference, we know the terror is coming to PS4 and PlayStation VR on January 24, 2017 in two forms: Standard and Digital Deluxe.
Built on Capcom's proprietary in-house RE Engine, 'biohazard' is going to drop VR players INTO the 'Resident Evil' universe like never before thanks to an immersive first-person POV as well as photorealistic graphics. Basically, your heart rate's gonna accelerate every time you choose to open a door.
In terms of story, Capcom says 'biohazard' takes place "after the events of 'Resident Evil 6', taking place in modern day and revolving around a foreboding, derelict plantation mansion in rural America. Players must explore and survive the horrors within the mysterious, sprawling estate."
Here's an evocative trailer, entitled 'Desolation':
Creepy, right?
And since January can't get here soon enough, all PlayStation Plus subscribers can head on over to the PlayStation Store to download the FREE 'Resident Evil 7 Teaser: Beginning Hour' demo.
Lastly, anyone who pre-orders the Standard or Digital Deluxe versions of 'Resident Evil 7 biohazard', will receive the Survival Pack, which "which includes an early unlock to the hardest difficulty mode as well as a special item set when the game releases. Pre-order via the PlayStation Store and you’ll also receive the exclusive Resident Evil 7 PS4 dynamic theme."
