Primed to be a huge beta.
The PS4 & PC exclusive 'Street Fighter V' was a smash hit at E3, and later this month, PS4 players the world over will be able to get in on the action. Capcom is having a beta, and for 5 days on the PS4, Capcom will be collecting data in order to get the game's net code ready for release.
To get into the beta, users need to preorder 'Street Fighter V' on the PS4 (preorder here). The beta will start July 23rd a 6pm PT, and run for 5 days.
The beta will feature all six characters from the (very fun) E3 build. That means Ryu, Nash, Birdie, Cammy, Chun Li, and M. Bison. (There will be four characters to start with Birdie and Cammy opening up on July 25th. Those characters are coming later as part of "content delivery system" test.) For each session players will choose their character and then be matched up online, which means that character selection happens pre opponent. Likewise, there will be no versus offline play in this beta as Capcom is insisting on testing the networking.
The beta will have three stages, and matches will occur randomly in Bustling Side Street (China), Terminal Station (London), and in the new Forgotten Waterfall stage.
In North America, (US & Canada), those who preorder will begin receiving their redemption keys/code on 7/20, at which point they can download the 'Street Fighter V' Beta client. (PSN preorders won't get a key, but will need to manually download the client on 7/20).
In Latin America, players can get beta access by preordering on PSN.
In Asia and Japan, users need to download the 'Street Fighter V Closed Beta Test Ticket' from PSN this week for a chance to play the beta.
In Europe and the rest of the world, users need to sign-up for a chance to play the beta (go here).
