A primer on PC settings.
Out today, 'Far Cry 4' wants to be a visual powerhouse on the PC, but a big part having such a lush game flex the rendering power of PC is being able to tweak the settings. Nvidia and Ubisoft have partnered up for the PC version of 'Far Cry 4,' and for certain the marketing aspect can be seen in the following Nvidia GameWorks video:
Today, however, Nvidia published a huge guide of what all of the different graphics options offer, how the different techniques for things like anti-aliasing and shadow depth are implemented and they affect, and even how users can manually dig into game's XML files for even more render options. The comparisons are lengthy, with tons of examples, and this isn't market babble, this is fairly objective analysis alongside recommendations for 600, 700, Titan, and 900 series Nvidia cards.
