The story of a boy and his gigantic dog.
'The Last Guardian' will hit the PS4 in 2016, Sony announced at its E3 press conference. Sony showed off some welcome gameplay footage from the upcoming title from the people that brought fans the likes of 'Ico' and 'Shadow of the Colossus.'
The game features the endearing interactions between a young boy and his enormous dog companion. He might not be fully dog—the creature sports some talons, wings, and feathers—but his mannerisms and the noises he makes are decidedly canine. The gameplay that was shown off at the conference features a lot of puzzle-based platforming that forces the boy and the giant bird-dog to each use his own strengths to proceed.
The game has been in development for almost a decade at this point, having been first announced all the way back at E3 2009, so fans of Team Ico's heartwarming style should be relieved to hear that this years-long journey is about to come to its long-awaited conclusion.
