Six part series offering insight into a challenging project.
Warner Bros. and developer Monolith's 'Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor' is out today, and for anyone interested in games or in what goes into handling a license as massive as 'The Lord of the Rings' the 'Making of' series is more than worth a look. Naturally, this is not only tied into 'LotR,' but the project has had the ambition of being a premiere franchise along the line of WB's 'Batman: Arkham' series.
As is often the case, the 25 minute series only scratches the surface, but it's nevertheless a free look behind the development veil. In part 3, one of the game's most touted features, the Nemisis system, is discussed with commentary from multiple team members, and the piece goes on to cover why the feature is such a technical challenge.
The entire series can be accessed here.
