Early registration earns users Platinum Points for MyNintendo rewards.
With Nintendo's first big smartphone app 'Miitomo' just a month away, the company has opened up preregistration that will notify users as soon as the app becomes available for download. Preregistering (which you can do right here) by signing up for the new Nintendo Account service will also give users Platinum Points for the MyNintendo rewards program, which will launch alongside 'Miitomo'.
Incentivzing signups like this is a good idea. Nintendo is going all out with 'Miitomo', and they seem determined to make this a success. I imagine many people will sign up just to get some Platinum Points, honestly. It'll be interesting to see what Nintendo brings to the table with a social networking app.
