The shadow remains cast.
Surprisingly, the retail edition of 'Bayonetta 2'--which included the original game on a physical disc--has gone out of print, with sealed copies going for $75-$100 on Ebay. Sure, you can still grab both games digitally on WiiU for $60 total, but we know how precious SD card space is on that thing.
Thankfully, with everybody's favorite witch about to step into the spotlight again being added to the 'Smash Bros.' roster next month, Nintendo has decided it's time to get her back on store shelves. The company announced today that 'Bayonetta 2' will be re-released at retail on February 19th, minus the original game, for $30.
Considering Nintendo's hesitance to discount their games for any reason--seriously, how is 'Mario Kart 8' is still $60?--being able to snatch up one of the best games on the system/of this gen for half price is utterly miraculous. And yes, if you so desire, the original game can still be had from the eShop, albeit for $30 as well. The real value is gonna be seeing what happens with the first hapless 8-year-old who decides to find out about the game his/her new favorite 'Smash' character came from.
