New game bringing together character variations from titles past.
Today, NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. finally came forward with what creative director Ed Boon has been teasing for some time, a new Mortal Kombat game. Titled 'Mortal Kombat X,' the new game is coming to the new consoles, and intriguingly, it will feature multiple variations of each character, allowing fans to pit different incarnations of each characters against each other.

From Warner Bros., "Fueled by next-gen technology, Mortal Kombat X combines unparalleled, cinematic presentation with all new gameplay to deliver the most brutal Kombat experience ever. For the first time ever, Mortal Kombat X gives players the ability to choose from multiple variations of each character impacting both strategy and fighting style. And with a new fully-connected gameplay experience, players are launched into a persistent online contest where every fight matters in a global battle for supremacy."
More details are to come at E3, but the game is set for a 2015 release date with both the PS4 and PS3 versions announced. Expect Xbox One, and 360 versions along with an eventual PC version.
