Nope, still no 'Red Dead Redemption'.
True to their word, Microsoft has been pretty steady with the backward compatibility updates, and today's slate, which is available right this second, brings a nice little mix of big, small, and "they spent the effort on this why?"
The big fish this round is 'Halo Reach', which was one of the top five requested titles on their voting ballot (which, fyi, is still active). This means that the entirety of the FPS 'Halo' saga can now be played on the Xbox One. 'Reach' was Bungie's swan song, and probably the second best game in the series behind 'Halo 2'. Would've been nice to see that one get the 'Master Chief Collection' treatment, but c'est la vie. 'Deus Ex: Human Revolution' is also playable now, just in time for folks to get good and caught up before 'Mankind Divided' hits.
In the less AAA space: Awesome platormer 'Splosion Man' is playable. Surely, the 'Ms' can't be far behind, which will be great. Jonathan Blow's 'Braid' is in as well, just in time for 'The Witness' next month. 'Portal: Still Alive' is also on the list. 'The Orange Box' would've been preferable there, but I'd settle for this being a good sign that maybe 'Portal 2' is on its way. Lastly, in the WTF category: 'Doritos Crash Course'. Yeah, I got nothing. The full list is below.
The backward compatibility struggle continues on, and you can continue to expect these kinds of regular updates into the foreseeable future, with 'Halo Wars', the first 'Call of Duty: Black Ops', and the three 'Bioshock' games already being worked on. Until then, enjoy your Doritos game, I guess.
