Beta deactivated due to server issues.
The beta for the hotly anticipated 'Street Fighter V' was live yesterday evening for not even an hour before players started experiencing connectivity issues, and most not even being able to get past the title screen. Today, after a brief second try, Capcom has issued a statement that the beta's servers are currently down for the count.
"We apologise for the ongoing issues that users have been experiencing with the 'Street Fighter V' beta test. In order to allow us to fix the issues as quickly as possible, we are going to initiate a period of extended maintenance, during which time the beta will be unavailable to all users."
The statement then goes on to say that Capcom will inform everyone of the date when the servers will turn back on. Not what time; date. Meaning, whatever issues are going on with the beta on the server side, they're really bad. But, hey, this is precisely why you run a beta test, right? We'll keep you posted on when 'Street Fighter V' gets back up for Round 2.
