Being added along with a rocket turret, homing sea mines, and wall lamps.
With 'ARK: Survival Evolved' version 224, Compsognathus, aka "Compy," joins the struggle for survival as that special mix of curious, friendly, and also dangerous. The danger comes when wild compies are in packs, their pet-ready demeanor shifts into meat-eating mode. Domesticated compies are pleasant enough, and can make for great early alert systems thanks to their piercing distress call. Having a pack or two of tame compies can lead to a Compy Gang, which are significantly stronger and quicker than the lone version.
'ARK' players have been awaiting the arrival of the Compy for a long time, but there is a lot more in this latest update.
'ARK' is getting three important items, a high-tech Rocket Turret, homing Sea Mines, and funnily enough, Wall Lamps. Even better though is the new persistent Tribe Logs which will help to understand the tribe's activities when the player is offline. Finally, players will be able to craft their own food and drink recipes. This ability could make for some very potent items that in turn will need some feature balancing.
'ARK: Survival Evolved' is in Early Access on PC and is coming to both the Xbox One and PS4 next year.
