The 1950s classic films are planned for Blu-ray later this year.
As previously reported, Film Movement is preparing 'Sissi: The Trilogy' for Blu-ray. An exact release date has not been announced, but the box set is expected to arrive later this year.
At the age of seventeen, Romy Schneider became an international star through her portrayal of Princess Elisabeth (Sissi) of Austria in the first of three lavish films directed by Ernst Marischka. While she would go on to work with some of the most influential and daring European directors of the era, Schneider will always be remembered by this defining role.
The box set will include 'Sissi' (1955), 'Sissi: The Young Empress' (1956), and 'Sissi: The Fateful Years of an Empress' (1957). In addition, the release will also include 'The Story of Vickie' (1954) and the English-language dubbed film 'Forver My Love' (1962).
Supplements have not been annouced yet, but the films will feature new 2K restorations and German DTS-HD MA soundtracks.
